Surely one of the oddest shaped counties in the country, Warwickshire’s borders have changed perhaps more than any other’s from its historical base. Though Warwick itself is the administrative centre, Nuneaton boasts the title of largest town in the far north of the county. Of course the county is famed for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare and Stratford-upon-Avon is the centre of all things Shakespeare.

But this is no backward-thinking county. In common with many other counties, the service sector dominates but with a wide range of industrial areas.
