It becomes very easy in the workplace to settle into a routine, a rut if you will.  You carry on doing everything the way you always have because it is the way it has always been done.  But what if you could do something to improve the harmony within your team?  Yes team building activities are a fantastic tool for this, and if you have a team working in better harmony together they will be more efficient for you.  One way to help you understand this is to consider a pride of lions in Africa.  For a pride of lions to take down a big kill, such a buffalo, the females in the pride work together to isolate a single buffalo and then they all move in for the kill and drag it down.  If they all focused on different animals their success rate would be a lot lower as individually that is simply too much work for one lion to achieve, but by combining their forces and working in harmony they have a much better success rate.  I am not suggesting your team needs to do exactly the same things as the lions, but they can learn the lesson of how working together in harmony creates a greater success rate.

I got to thinking recently about trying new things and how it can open up a world of possibilities if you give something new a try.  Take me for example, if you told me fifteen years ago I would have been a specialist in bar flair skills, gun slinging skills and yo-yo tricks to name but a few, I would not have believed you.  In fact I would have been waiting for the punch line in the joke.  But I am a specialist in each of these areas and it was because I was willing to try something new.  I know that our team building solutions here at Sandstone are completely different from the norm, thus making them different.  And yes it does mean that when you decide to work with us for the first time for your team building day that you are taking a chance.  But to this day we have not had a client regret deciding to work with us and trying something new for their team building day.
